Every dog is different, but transitioning to raw can be straightforward.
The Direct Switch
Many owners find success with a simple, same-day change – finishing the last meal of their old food and starting raw at the next.
The Gradual Transition
Alternatively, you can slowly increase the amount of raw food while reducing their old diet over 3–5 days. This is often a good approach for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Whichever method you choose, avoid feeding raw and dry food together in the same meal, as they digest at different rates and may cause stomach upset.
Variety is also key and each protein provides different nutrients, so rotating between meats helps ensure balanced nutrition.
Henley Raw 80/10/10 Completes are formulated using 80% meat, 10% bone, and 10% offal (including 5% liver) for a naturally complete and balanced diet.
Raw meaty bones can also be introduced up to 2–3 times a week to help clean teeth and provide natural enrichment. Always select bones suitable for your dog’s size and chewing strength, and supervise feeding at all times.
We recommend feeding adult dogs 2%–3% of their ideal body weight per day, split across two meals (morning and evening).
This should be adjusted based on your dog’s age, activity level, metabolism, and lifestyle.
Example
A 25kg adult dog may typically require 500–750g of Henley Raw per day, depending on activity level and metabolism.

Puppies grow quickly and have different nutritional needs. We recommend a direct switch to raw feeding rather than mixing with dry or wet food, as combining diets can upset delicate tummies.
How much to feed:
Example
A 5kg puppy may need around 250–500g of Henley Raw daily, split between several meals.

Storage
Keep food frozen until needed. Defrost in the fridge and use within 3 days of opening.
Hygiene
Wash hands, utensils, and surfaces thoroughly after handling raw meat.
Variety
Rotate proteins regularly to give your dog a broad nutritional profile.
Bones
Offer raw bones or chews 2–3 times a week to support dental hygiene and provide natural enrichment. Never feed cooked bones.
Fruit & Veg
You can supplement meals with finely chopped or blended vegetables and fruits such as broccoli, spinach, carrots, blackberries, or cranberries for extra vitamins and antioxidants.
